Philosophy of life can be said as thinking about thinking or the way of life that exists in every nation. In Sundanese, it is divided into five categories which are about (1) man as a person, (2) relationship between man and society, (3) relationship between man and nature, (4) relationship between man and God, and (5) man in pursuing physical advancement and spiritual satisfaction.  Those five categories still can be found in contemporary Sundanese daily life with various shifting. Some of Sundanese people in suburbs nowadays are detaching traditional life to regain modernity and effectiveness. Therefore, it is no wonder if the new generations of Sundanese people unable to distinguish their ancestor philosophy of life. From such comprehension, the research is conducted by focusing on the usage of traditional utensils such as gentong/buyung and seeng.

Theoretically, Fanon stated in his On National Culturethat each generation must out of relative obscurity discover its mission, fulfill it, or betray the culture. The issue is how the shifting is occured in Sundanese.  It leads to identify the method of the shifthing.Conducting the research, the method used is analytic descriptive. The data are described and analyzed objectively.

The result shows that the traditional life only can be maintained and herited by long hard implementation concerning the usage of traditional utensils in the Sundaneses’ new generation daily life.
